- Apologies were received from Cllrs Brown and Carter.
- To receive any Declarations of Interest not already declared under the Council’s Code of Conduct or members Register of Disclosable Pecuniary Interests.
- No declarations were made.
- Public Participation
- Chairman thanked Cllr Dierdre Brown for her kind donation towards the presentation of Jubilee gifts for village school children to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
- Mrs Alyson Baker introduced herself as a prospective candidate for the Hillside and Raskelf Division (to be formed following the elections on 5 May 22 and comprising 41 parish councils including our own). Chairman outlined the Council’s priorities.
- Cllr Darwin advised that the Community Association wished to place a bench and picnic table on Swale Green to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Cllrs were minded to accept the idea and the topic will be an agenda item at the next meeting.
- The minutes of the last meeting held on 19 Jan 22 were agreed to be a true record and were signed accordingly by the Chairman.
- Clerk’s reported that:
- The VAS was active and the first data download would occur when the sign is moved in March to another village site.
- Gardening quotations for the lych gate area, the Pinfold and the Hornby footpath are under consideration.
- The Great British Spring Clean will take place in the period 25 March to 16 April; Clerk will arrange for loan of equipment and publicity.
- At least one allotment garden plot will be available from 1 April; an invitation to apply for a tenancy will appear in the March issue of The Magazine and on Facebook.
- Financial matters
- Financial report – Clerk reported that the FY 2021/22 outturn was likely to be slightly higher than budgeted. The current balance was £17,741.88 but two invoices totalling over £5,000 were expected in the near future.
- Council document security
- Chairman proposed that to improve the security of the council’s documents it should subscribe to MS Office 365 and purchase an external 2TB hard drive – resolved.

- Matters for consideration
- There were no new matters for consideration.
- Ongoing issues and further action where necessary
- Neighbourhood Plan – Information continues to be gathered; the most recent is the consideration of the need for a ‘Strategic Environmental Assessment’ which can maximise the Plan’s influence on sustainable development. The Steering Group is to meet before the end of Febuary.
- Queen’s Jubilee Big Lunch – the Steering Group will meet on 22 Feb 22. It was agreed that a Jubilee mug be given to local children of school age; Cllr Mitchell to arrange purchase of suitable mugs. Details of Jubilee activities and mug distribution will be provided through a flyer, posters, The Magazine and Facebook.
