Here is the latest news from North Yorkshire County Council of the work to be carried out at Thornton Bridge. The work planned is in two parts: the temporary repair to the balustrade should be replaced by a full reinstatement of the balustrade and, secondly, the northern approach road is expected to be raised (the dip taken out) which should improve the current poor sight lines for approaching car drivers.
