Mark Darwin

I was born and raised in the village and attended St Peter’s Primary School, my wife and I were married in the church and have 2 grown up children. Having spent most of my life enjoying village life I decided that it was time to give something back, I am Chairman of the Pumpkin Club, a member of The Brafferton and Helperby Community Association, which organises the Feast and Bonfire. I am also a founding Trustee of the Brafferton and Helperby Community Led Trust Ltd, aimed to develop affordable housing in the village. Having been elected to the newly amalgamated Parish Council I hope to help resolve issues affecting members of the community along with my fellow councillors.
