- Matters for Consideration
- Illuminated Christmas tree in Main Street during the Festive Season – Chairman said research had been carried out on the viability of erecting the tree: a 4m tree from a local supplier seemed most appropriate; several locations were suggested; methods of adding lights were described and the total costed at about £300. After a discussion, Cllr Denison proposed that a 4m tree be set up, in early December, on a semi-permanent base in the vicinity of the council notice boards illuminated with 3 sets of battery powered lights – resolved. An offer from John King of £100 from the Community Association was gratefully accepted as was a £10 donation from Mike Barfield. Additionally, a provisional offer of the loan of batteries from Pete Nelson Motor Services was confirmed. The Chairman and Clerk will produce a Risk Assessment. The tree lights will be switched at a small ceremony (5 Dec provisionally) by Cllr and Lynn Owens and/or children, the details of which will be finalised outside this meeting.
