Hambleton District Council ran a consultation from 15 May to 29 June on the proposal that the parishes of Brafferton and Helperby should be merged into a single parish represented by a single parish council.. Parishioners were invited to respond to a questionnaire on the proposal and, if the merger went ahead, on what form parish and council should take and what each should be named.
On 18 September Hambleton District Council announced the results of the questionnaire and published draft recommendations. Respondents had supported the proposal and the results are summarized in the link below:
A second consultation offers a final chance (closing date for responses 21 October 2018) for parishioners and other stakeholders to have a say on the draft recommendations before the final recommendations are announced on 21 December 2018.
