On Monday 12 March Chris Owens (Chairman of Brafferton Parish Council) presented petitions to Gary Nelson (Director of Law and Governance at Hambleton District Council (HDC)) from Brafferton and Helperby electors requesting that HDC take steps to group the two parishes into a single Brafferton and Helperby parish with its own single Parish Council.
