Brafferton & Helperby Parish Council vacancy
There is a vacancy on the parish council for one new councillor.
Following the resignation of Matt Boyle, the parish council was required (as is the normal process) to wait until North Yorkshire Council confirmed that no election would be called to fill the vacancy. No election was called so the parish council is now able to co-opt a new councillor and hopes to do this at its next meeting on Wednesday 19 Feb 25.
Applications are invited from those interested in joining the Council and playing a part in local decision making. You may have ideas that you think are worthy projects or want to persuade the Council to campaign in particular ways, so why not stand for co-option.
If you’re interested then, by Monday 10 February 2025, please contact the Clerk, Roger Clements, by email at clerk@braffertonhelperby-pc.gov.uk or call 01423 209045. Ideally, first select the Documents Tab/’Councillor vacancies’ to read the qualifications necessary to become a councillor (mostly concerned with your connection with the parish) and read the process that the Council uses to bring a co-opted new Member onto the Council.
